This procedure stands as the go-to solution for areas of asphalt that show signs of distress.

The process entails the removal of the compromised asphalt section, to be substituted with new material that matches or surpasses the depth of the original layer. It’s crucial to eliminate all of the damaged asphalt to avoid the new repair being adversely affected by any neighboring, yet still damaged, asphalt.

Depth of the repair is another vital consideration.

Typically, light duty parking lots feature an asphalt depth ranging from 2 inches to 4 inches. Our approach aims to reinstall at least the existing depth, if not greater, to guarantee the durability of the repair. The specific requirements for depth also hinge on the initial causes of the asphalt’s failure, making it essential to address these underlying issues during the repair process.

Surface Patching

Asphalt patching is a cheaper alternative in areas where the asphalt has cracked, but the base is still stable, or in areas where potholes have occurred.

This process begins by cleaning the repair area and applying a tack coat to help the new asphalt adhere to the existing surface.

A layer of asphalt is then installed upon the existing surface; the depth will vary depending on the severity of the existing damage. Patching is more affordable; however, it will not last nearly as long as removal.
